Technocopia's computer-controlled (CNC) vinyl cutter can be used to make laptop stickers\, car decals\, art pieces\, and professional signage. It’s also a great tool for making screens for screenprinting t- shirts. In this 1 hour hands-on class\, you'll learn how to use Technocopi a’s Roland GS-24 vinyl cutter safely and effectively. Participants will learn how to import a design from vector graphic software and send it to t he machine. Next\, you’ll use the machine to cut an adhesive vinyl sheet into professional looking signage or ready-to-apply paint mask. This clas s will focus on basic usage of the vinyl cutter machine and only will brie fly touch on design techniques.

About the Instructor
Drew Wilson is a computer scientist\, desi gner and activist. As a Fellow with the Ford Foundation\, Mozilla\, and Co de for America he has used his background in web technology to support soc ial change organizations. At Technocopia he uses computer-controlled machi nes like the laser cutter\, CNC router\, and vinyl cutter to create physic al objects. He is particularly interested in using digital fabrication for DIY printmaking such as screenprinting and relief printing.
