Your observers are being rambunctious.
As moderators, we have to be prepared to face a number of common, uncommon, bizarre, and interesting situations. We rely on many of the same skills as a circus ringmaster – creativity, flexibility, and a sense of humor.
This workshop will help both new and experienced moderators improve their ability to handle situations that they haven’t encountered before and learn techniques to make their user research session as successful as possible despite what’s going on around them.
During the workshop, we will elicit and share best practices for handling situations while moderating, explore the different types of situations that moderators should be prepared to encounter, and work together to identify specific techniques for how to respond to each type of situation (specifically, what to do and what to say). Attendees should come prepared to share their experiences, or situations they’ve always wondered how to handle.
