15th R&D-Product Development Metrics Summit

Mar 12, 2013 - 08:30 AM
Four Points By Sheraton 1125 Boston-Providence Turnpike

This Summit will provide participants with a comprehensive synthesis of the business evolution, current and best practices, and projected future of R&D and Product Development Metrics as viewed from the top of corporations. The first two Seminars of the Summit center on the Body of Knowledge of R&D and Product Development Metrics. A day is dedicated to focus on metrics for the decisions and issues that Officers and Senior Executives face in directing and measuring overall performance and entire organizations. A half-day is dedicated to "proactive" and "predictive" metrics that are useful to corporations and projects. For example, did you know that 3M's "Vitality Index" and the emergent "Return On Innovation" metric are the fastest rising metrics being used by industry? The final Seminar of the Summit is a comprehensive Workshop aimed at producing a ready-to-go dashboard of metrics. Participants break into working groups to create a "set of metrics" suitable for managing and monitoring R&D and/or Product Development organizations as a whole -- Projects, Technical & Functional Disciplines, Improvement Initiatives, and the resultant overall Corporate Performance of R&D. GGI's no-frills Linked Metrics Portfolio®, preferred by executives to the Balanced Scorecard for managing R&D and Product Development, simply frames the dashboard. The Workshop is interspersed with discussions on Advanced Development and Intellectual Property to hone the metrics portfolios. Several of our prior participants have said, "the Metrics Summit covers everything an Officer or Senior Manager needs to know on the subject of Metrics." GGI, founded in 1986, has been a recognized thought leader and practitioner in this field since the early 1990s. Senior executives wishing to put themselves and their fellow officers in a better position to direct and drive product creation and commercialization should strongly consider attending.
